You will be provided with all the materials necessary to paint your own stunning lampshade to take home and treasure.
Alvaro can also provide the shade itself (handmade in London and available at the cost price of £25) or you are very welcome to ‘recycle’ your own plain card or parchment shade by bringing it along.
No experience is necessary. Handmade and, where possible, locally sourced lunch and tea are included.
About Alvaro Picardo
Alvaro splits his time between London and the Emporda in Catalunya.
He started painting lampshades with the aim of giving forgotten pieces a new lease of life and found himself unleashing a whole new world of creativity.
He is influenced by brutalism, modern architecture, abstract and Modern British Art, and the world of interior design.
Alvaro’s work is featured in Wold of Interiors, House & Garden, Elle Decoration, to name but a few…
He works with leading interior designers such as Sybil Colefax, Studio Reed, Studio Atkinson Buchanan Studio, Max Rollit and Douglas Mackie.
