Master the art of making a Roman Blind on this three day course.

Under the expert guidance of seamstress Mary Bullock, spend a wonderful 3 days with us in the studio making a Roman Blind that to fit a window in your home (we will talk you through measuring prior to the course, we ask that you keep the blind to under 140cm length/ width so it is manageable for you).

Understand how to assess and measure a window accurately and know the difference between inside and outside recess blinds. Calculate the correct number of folds, and spaces needed for different size blinds. Layout, cut and pin fabric, lining and padding accurately to create the perfect Roman blind.

Next you will confidently machine and hand stitch everything together to create a professional Roman blind with no stitches shown on the front face fabric, it will be interlined and lined and have machine made rod pockets, we complete your blind by inserting rods and a bottom bar, we will then string your blind and hang it for you to admire!

There are no prior requirements for this course, although basic sewing skills will help.

Please bring in your own special fabric so you leave with a blind perfect for your home.

Course fee includes all equipment (except main fabric & track) and locally sourced, homemade seasonal lunch and tea. Places are limited to 4 per course to ensure you can really master this skill!
